Ryves Youth Center Hosts Junior Boxing Olympics

TERRE HAUTE, IN, April 10, 2013 – Ryves Youth Center will be hosting its annual Junior Boxing Olympics. The event will be held on April 27 & 28 at Etling Hall, located at 1356 Locust Street, Terre Haute, Indiana. All junior boxers are children that benefit from the help of Ryves Hall. They will be sponsored by local businesses and other independent sponsors.
On Saturday, April 27, the event will begin at 1pm local time and on Sunday, April 28, at 12pm local time. The doors will open one hour before matches begin. All matches are subject to change. The Junior Olympics is sponsored through USA Boxing.
Jim Edwards, director of Ryves, said, “ This boxing match is not only put on for the kids to have fun, but also to give the community a chance to be involved with the program.”

Children ages three to 17 are offered meals, activities, help with homework, and some one to talk to. Ryves Hall is a part of the organization known as Catholic Charities. HISTORY OF ORGANIZATION
Since 1982 Ryves Youth Center at Etling Hall in Terre Haute, Indiana has been open and offering services to any child who walks through the doors. We serve children ages three to 17 with age-appropriate programming. All activities are free to the children, and anyone is welcome to volunteer.
Ryves Youth Center at Etling Hall is a second home to its children. They bring homework to the center, eat many meals and receive love. There are computers and other technological resources available to the kids. And after homework is completed, Ryves offers all types of activities. This programming exposes children to a whole new world and keeps them off the streets and out of trouble.
Volunteers are welcome to come by Ryves Youth Center at Etling Hall Monday through Friday between 8:00 A.M. and 9:00 P.M. Ryves Youth Center is located on the northwest corner of 14th Street and Locust Street. Any help that you are able to give us is greatly appreciated.
Ryves Youth Center offers a new way for supporters to help children in the Wabash Valley through its Sponsor A Child program. For less than $1 per day, the children attending Ryves Youth Center receive educational assistance through after-school tutoring, meals served every weekday to improve their health and ability to learn, and emotional support through daily interaction with positive adult role models and counselors.
